Costs and fees
Straightforward prices for private braces, clear aligners and retainers.
Private orthodontic fees
Below are our private orthodontic fees. For patients who qualify, health service (NHS) treatment is also available – see health service or private.
At our clinic, metal braces and clear aligners are the same price – what you pay simply depends on how complex your case is. Both use the same three price bands.
| What is included | Two sets of retainers are included. Refinements are included in aligner prices, so you will not pay more if treatment takes longer. If extractions are needed, your own dentist does them and they are not included. Replacement retainers later on are not included. |
|---|---|
| Assessment fee | £155 |
| Payment options | Pay a £900 deposit, then the rest in 12 monthly payments. A £150 plan fee is added to the remaining balance and divided across your 12 monthly payments. |
Going ahead with treatment? Your £155 assessment fee is deducted. When you choose private treatment after your private assessment, the £155 already paid is taken away from your overall treatment cost. If you use our payment plan, we take it off the £900 deposit, so your deposit is £745 and the monthly amounts do not change. Cross-border (HSE) patients are not included.
At your assessment, the orthodontist will explain which treatment is right for you, and the fee.
Under 18? Private braces or Smartee clear aligners cost £2,900 through our under-18s offer (usually £3,900) for as long as the patient is under 18. See private braces for under-18s.

We also provide Invisalign. Invisalign aligners are £1,000 more than the prices above: from £3,900 for super mild cases, from £4,900 for moderate cases and from £5,900 for complex cases.
Moving to us part-way through treatment?
If you began orthodontic treatment elsewhere – perhaps before moving to Portadown or the Craigavon area – we can usually take over your care.
- Transfer cases are usually treated privately, so our private fees apply.
- Start with a private assessment (£155). Your clinician will review your progress and explain the cost of finishing treatment.
- Bring any records or letters from your previous orthodontist, for example your treatment plan, X-rays or a transfer letter.

Retainer prices
| Replacement retainers | Price |
|---|---|
| 1 retainer (upper or lower) | £105 |
| 1 set (upper and lower) | £210 |
| 2 sets (multi-buy) | £380 (save £40) |
| 3 sets (multi-buy) | £510 (save £120) |
Spare retainers for £60 each (£120 for an upper and lower): just order and pay on the day your braces are removed. You save £45 per retainer compared with a standard replacement (£90 per set). The lab makes your spare alongside your main retainers, using the same scan, so it costs them less – and we pass the saving straight on to you.
Replacement retainers may also be available from your regular dentist. Prices vary from dentist to dentist.
If you do not wear your retainers and your teeth move, and we did your original braces, it will cost £1,245 per arch (£2,490 for upper and lower) for us to treat you again to straighten your teeth. If not, our standard private prices above apply. A second course of treatment is never paid for by the health service. Read more about retainers.
Broken or lost braces
Removable braces and Twin Blocks: if you bring back the model of your teeth we gave you, repair or replacement is free. Without the model, a repair costs about £80 and a replacement brace about £110 (health service charge). See our broken or lost brace policy.
Questions and answers
Can you finish treatment I started somewhere else?
In most cases, yes. Transfer cases are normally treated privately, so our private fees apply. Book a private assessment (£155), where your clinician reviews your progress and explains the cost of finishing. Please bring any records or letters from your previous orthodontist.
Family offer
Are you the brother, sister or parent of one of our patients? You get 10% off private orthodontic treatment. And if your family member is currently in health service (NHS) or private treatment with us, your private assessment is free (normally £155). Each person is assessed individually. See the full sibling or parent offer.
