Teeth can drift back whatever your age. Retainers keep them in place, which makes them just as important as your braces.
How to wear them
- Wear your retainers each night while you sleep (8 to 10 hours), for life.
- If you miss a night and your retainers feel tight, wear them for longer until they are comfortable again, and let us know.
Looking after them
- Whenever they are out of your mouth, keep them in their case.
- No hot water – it bends the plastic.
- Keep them out of reach of pets.
If you need a new one
Replacement retainers cost £105 each, or £210 for upper and lower. If a retainer breaks, goes missing or stops fitting, get in touch with us or your regular dentist straight away. Read more about retainers.
